How we rate Steam Deck compatibility
At SteamDeckPlayable we cross-reference Valve's official rating (Verified, Playable, Unsupported) with real-world data from our player community and ProtonDB reports. On top of that, we layer in framerate targets and battery life figures tested on actual hardware — so our verdict reflects what you'll genuinely experience, not just what passed a lab checklist.
What "Verified" actually means
Valve's Verified label confirms great controller support, readable text on the Deck's 7-inch screen, and no launcher issues. It says nothing about performance targets, battery drain at different FPS caps, or whether players have found better settings since the badge was awarded. Our community fills that gap every day.
When Unsupported doesn't mean unplayable
Some games fail Valve's tests only because of online anti-cheat — the single-player campaign runs fine on SteamOS. Others sit at Unknown simply because Valve hasn't tested them yet, even though our community has logged thousands of successful sessions. We flag both cases so you're never left guessing at the store page.
